Take care of your animals' health – choose feed salt and mineral licks

Animal husbandry is not only hard work, but also an enormous responsibility. Animal health and welfare are essential to ensure high performance and profitability of livestock farming. Proper nutrition, including adequate mineral supplementation with Mineral Block feed salt and mineral licks, is one of the most important factors for their vitality.

Ruminants, including cows, sheep, horses and wild ruminants, have high sodium and chloride requirements; both minerals can be found in salt. This is due to their specific diet, based mainly on potassium-rich and sodium-poor plants. In ruminants, sodium and chlorine deficiency can lead to many health problems such as poor weight gains, decreased milk yield and increased susceptibility to diseases. This is why Mineral Block feed salt and mineral licks are so important in well-balanced animal diet.

Healthy feed additive

Feed salt is often overlooked in discussions about nutrition of livestock and wild ruminants. In fact, it is one of the most effective ways to look after their health and keep the animals' diets fully under control. Our feed salt is extracted from a salt solution derived from the wet mining of natural rock salt deposits and then used in the production of ruminant feed (including green forage and silage). Its main advantage is improved taste, making it more appealing to animals and thus increasing their intake of potassium, magnesium and calcium.

Another way to ensure adequate intake of minerals in animals is the use of so-called mineral licks. Unlike feed salt, Mineral Block licks are designed to be licked by the animals whenever they want to. These products do not provide complete control over the consumed salt amounts, but neither do they pose a health risk since the animals consume only as much sodium and chlorine as they need. For this reason, Mineral Block licks can be successfully introduced in free range farms for domestic cattle or wild ruminants. It is also worth noting that, depending on the conditions and requirements of animal farming, different variants of Mineral Block licks can be used (Basic, Basic Plus, Max), enriched with additional minerals such as cobalt, copper, magnesium, selenium, manganese, iodine or zinc.

Benefits of Mineral Block feed salt and mineral licks

Mineral Block feed salt and mineral licks are essential elements in any animal's diet, which have a positive impact on animal health and farming efficiency. Salt stimulates the production of digestive juices, which increases the appetite and facilitates digestion and nutrient absorption. This provides the animals with better conditions for growth, reproduction and, in the case of cows, greater milk yield. In addition to improving the overall appearance of the animals, the ingredients contained in Mineral Block feed salt and mineral licks support the proper functioning of the immune, nervous and reproductive systems.

High quality equals safety

Both our Mineral Block feed salt and mineral licks were granted the international GMP+ certificate. This means that we use only top-quality contaminant-free raw materials and maintain the highest safety standards in the production of feed ingredients. In addition, our products contain the right proportions of all the essential ingredients in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development on the content of undesirable substances in feed (Journal of Laws 2012 no. 0 item 203) (as amended).

Choose the best Mineral Block feed salt and mineral licks

Feed salt and mineral licks are a simple, effective and, above all, economical way of providing ruminants with the right amount of sodium and chlorine. In response to various farming needs, we offer feed salt in bags from 25 kg to 500 kg and 1000 kg. In addition, we offer individual 10 kg Mineral Block licks that can be put in various places to increase the availability of essential minerals for the animals.
